Saul Patu
A four-year letterman as a defensive lineman at University of Oregon (1997-2000)
Made All-Pacific-10 Conference honors in all four years
Finished his collegiate career as the All-Time Leader in Ducks history in Tackles For Loss and Second in Sacks.
He was a semi-finalist for National Defensive Player of the
Year and winner of The Joe Shaffeld Award as the Ducks' top defensive lineman and The Will Gonyea Award for
the team's most inspirational player.
Saul went on from Oregon to play professional football for 8 years; 2 years in the NFL for the New York
Jets, New England Patriots & Tennessee Titans and 6 years in the AFL for the Colorado Crush and Columbus
Destroyers.
In 2003, Saul became the Crush's all time-leader in rushing and sacks. Saul and his wife Alana,
started The Patu Foundation in 2004. The Patu Foundation
is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at working with at-risk youth to empower, aid & educate them to
thrive in their family, community and education.
